Sarah Doesn't Know How to Sigh (a Super 8mm short film)

Sarah recounts her night out with Owais

Directed by: Ben Hancock

Starring: Owais Afzal and Sarah Munir

Camera: Beaulieu 4008 ZM-2 Super 8mm

Film: Kodak VISION3 500T Color Negative Film

Shot on a wide nearly fisheye lens which allowed me to keep things in focus because I was running the camera on a gimbal.

I wrote the film on the train on the way to the place where I was going to record Sarah's voice, a few days after I shot the video in one take straight shooting one reel of 8mm film. It was Owais's first time acting, my first time shooting a narrative on film and Sarah's first time voice acting.

Let me know in the comments what you think! Or if you have any questions.

Thanks so much also to the folks at Straight 8. This was my entry into that contest, but I wanted to reinvent the video in the vision I originally had for the project. Check them out. The contest is super fun and the community is super nice.
